Broadscale microplastic assessment

• The NSW EPA commissioned Broadscale Microplastic Assessment studied microplastic contamination across 120 coastal waterways across NSW. Moona Moona Creek ranked among the most contaminated waterways in NSW. This contradicts BBSC findings using the Ausmap methodology. Ausmap confirmed that the technique used and the locations sampled would have a big affect. BBSC will now focus on sampling Currambene and Moona Moona Creeks.

Glossy black cockatoo survey

• The NSW Saving our Species program are seeking volunteers to help with surveying the glossy black cockatoos to estimate population sizes and locate active nests in the region.
